Sorry, but I will be posting tonight for yesterday and today. We are still in Jordan. Yesterday we visited the ancient Roman city of Jerash that was called Gerasa in the Bible. It's just recently been discovered and excavation is continuing. We also went to Madaba where the oldest known map of the Holy Lands is preserved in a mosaic on the floor of a church.
Today we are headed to Petra. Really excited about visiting a city carved into solid rock. It will be a fair hike both directions unless I grab a passing camel. But I tell you! Talk about "the meter running!" The camel is about $60.
